Phanom Rung

Below are photographs taken at Phanom Ruck, a beautifully restored Khmer historic site in northeastern Thailand, near the Cambodian border.  It was constructed between the 10th and 12th centuries and is of Hindu origin.  It is the most beautiful site I have seen in Thailand.  I found myself fascinated with the doorways and the images that appear on the other side of the main prang.  The photographs show the intricate carvings in the lintels above the doorway.  I was so intent on taking pictures, I didn't eat lunch.  I like to say that the only thing I got for lunch at Phanom Rung was a major sunburn!.
